Engagement Formats
Three Formats, Each With a Distinct Purpose
Quintaro's engagements are not scaled versions of the same service. Each format is designed for a specific kind of situation — and choosing the right one is part of the conversation we have at the start.

How We Approach Each Engagement
Every Quintaro engagement begins with a preparatory phase — reading, note-taking, and forming an initial understanding of the situation before the first formal conversation. This is not optional; it is how we ensure that the time in the room is spent on what matters.
During the engagement itself, the consultant's role is to ask questions that help the client articulate what they already know, surface assumptions that have not been examined, and identify where the actual decision points lie. We do not arrive with a set of recommendations waiting to be delivered.
Every engagement ends with a written document. The purpose of this document is not to summarise what was discussed, but to provide the client with something they can return to — a careful record of the questions raised and the threads that seem most worth following.
Typical Timeline
Brief note or call to assess fit
Format agreed, fee confirmed, date set
Background shared, consultant reads and prepares
The structured time itself
Within one week of the engagement
Single Day Engagement
Quiet Counsel Session
A single-day engagement designed for founders and managing directors who would value an unhurried external conversation about a current decision. The session is structured around a morning of preparatory reading by the consultant, an afternoon of focused dialogue, and a brief written reflection delivered the following week.
The intent is not to deliver an answer but to help the leader articulate the questions more clearly to themselves. Suited for executives navigating a personal-professional decision that resists committee thinking — such as succession, exit timing, or partnership reconsideration.
Process Steps
Client shares background documents and a brief written summary of the decision
Consultant reads and prepares over the course of the morning
Afternoon dialogue — typically four to five hours with natural breaks
Written reflection delivered within one week
Process Steps
Scoping call with operating leadership to agree on the review's focus
Structured conversations with operating leaders (weeks 1–2)
Structured conversations with ownership group (weeks 3–4)
Review of governance documentation and structure
Closing written document delivered (weeks 5–6)
Six-Week Engagement
Stewardship Review
A six-week stewardship review for family-owned and founder-led businesses considering questions of legacy, governance, and long-horizon planning. The engagement involves structured conversations with both the operating leadership and members of the ownership group, a review of current governance documentation, and a closing written document.
The review is offered without recommendation; it is meant to give the family or owners better material for their own deliberations. The closing document maps observed patterns alongside considerations the owners may wish to discuss further.
Three-Day Off-Site
Pavilion Retreat Programme
A three-day off-site retreat programme for senior teams of six to twelve people, hosted at a quiet location and shaped around the team's particular concerns. The programme combines structured dialogue, individual reflection time, and longer working sessions on a specific organisational question chosen by the team in advance.
The consultant facilitates without directing, providing a written record of the conversations and a summary of areas where the team appeared to find common ground. Includes preparation calls, the on-site days, and a written summary.
Process Steps
Two preparation calls: one with the team leader, one with the full team
Day 1: Structured dialogue on the team's chosen organisational question
Day 2: Individual reflection time and longer working sessions
Day 3: Synthesis conversation and shared review of what emerged
Written summary of conversations and areas of common ground
